Right now, many Saints are resting in the boat like Jesus did, even in the midst of the storm that’s happening in the world. Yet many are panicking, fearful, and spreading it like the contagion fear is, keeping their eyes on the storm. It’s not that Jesus wasn’t aware a storm was going on, He knew all things. It’s that He knew His spiritual authority so He knew that no storm would overcome them. We should be as bold in faith and in Him.
It’s disheartening to see how many Christians have allowed the enemy to fan the flames of bitterness in their hearts against President Trump. I don’t particularly like him, or any president- I know they’re all wings of the same bird. I know America is destined for eventual destruction because ultimately there will be a one world order, a one world currency, and a one world religion. The beast system will come to play in this world, and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it.
Nevertheless- Jesus told us to pray for our leaders, so why take it personal? He’s only a man. These Christians don’t trust God’s sovereignty. Many believers have become emotionally entangled in a world they are no longer of. Jesus, in Matthew 24, told us the things that were to come, so that we would take heart and rest in Him, even despite the very real storm swirling around us. Trump isn’t the enemy; no man is. We wrestle not against flesh and blood. It’s unwise to give the enemy a foothold.
It doesn’t make you passive or ignorant to rest in the Lord fully now, it makes you focused. The Bible says that false prophets speak about the world, and the world hears them, because they are all of the world, but it tells we who are in Christ to set our affections on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth. ‘Affections’, by the Strong’s Concordance, means our attention or our focus. It’s spiritual currency, and we need to be mindful of it. I’m not saying ignore the world, I’m advising to guard your heart. Without love, we are nothing.
You can rest in this storm as it gradually becomes more chaotic, not because you’re so strong or holy, and not because of who runs any country, but because you know Jesus is Lord, you know you’re filled with the Holy Spirit, and you know the end, because it is already written.
